Spirit of the Northern Light Polar Bear

by Betsy
(Raeford,NC USA)

This one took a 5 weeknights to redesign and cut out.

8" stepping stone
Northern lights surround the spirit bear as it touches nose with the polar bear.
I did this for a someone who loves bears and lives in Ca.
The design came from a t-shirt.I didn't add some of the other bear found on the shirt and added more northern lights.I used the back of 2 different color stain glasses to give it the northern lights appeal. It shows off 3 different colors when tilted in any direction.Later, she called me and decided to place the stone on her coffee table instead outside.I told her to place the self sticking plastic dots (for framing) on the bottom so it won't scratch it.

Who's nosey?

by Betsy
(Raeford,NC USA)

This one didn't take long. I had it cut out and placed in a stepping stone mold within 3 nights.
This is a round 8" stepping stone.
The dog pattern came from FIG Website.I just added a butterfly image to the nose for a little touch of humor or cuteness. When I completed it, I also sent a picture to FIG. I had to finish this in a short time due to being a Christmas present for my Brother last year.
I try to give the stones a little "perzazed" by doing this..I'm placing smiles on people faces.

Stepping Stone I can't fly

by Betsy
(Raeford,NC USA)

I took my time cutting out the pieces during week nights.
I waited to place on contact paper until I did the lettering due to very small pieces.I would place dots on the back , making sure I had the correct side of glass for placing on contact paper.I then used Weldon glue for holding in place.
I never took classes and was taught from the websites this past fall.I've given several different designed stones to family members for Christmas presents. I like challenging images and give it an extra style. If I'm puzzled,I ask for opinions from experts before completing stain glass design.
I'm working on improving my grout stone making.
Sue, this is the finished paw design that we discussed about.
