Answer You can add marbles and stones to any project by wrapping foil around the edge of stones and either the middle or one end of marbles depending on whether you want the marble to stick out evenly on both sides, or stick out totally on the front of the project. Rough up the surface that will be foiled, so the foil has something to hold on to. Stones and marbles have a very smooth surface, unlike the edges of glass that has been cut, and foil slides off very easily if the surface isn't rough. You can rough it up with your grinder or by rubbing it with a carborundum stone. The only problem with marbles is the fact that the project won't lay flat. You can work on it using thick styrofoam that has holes dug out for the marbles to sit in so it will lay flat. |
