Brass & Glass Display Case Repair

by Martha
(Mesquite, TX )

I have a brass & glass hex shaped wall hung display case for small dolls, cars etc. The case is about 17.5 inches tall and about 12 inches wide. It has a door as the center section. My problem is that I dropped it and broke some the panes in it and I would like to get it repaired or repair it myself, but I don't know where to start looking to find who or how to get it done. Can you please help me. I can send you a picture if I need to.
Thanks,
Marty

Answer
Hi Marty,

If you're not familiar with glass work, doing it yourself would be very difficult. You would need glass cutting skills, soldering skills, and the skills necessary to take the case apart and reassemble it.

Look in the yellow pages for stained glass repair or stained glass supplies. Any place that sells supplies should either do repairs or know where you could get it done. Even though your glass and brass case is made with clear glass, it would still need to be repaired at a stained glass business.

What People
Are Saying

You can't imagine how much I wish I had found your incredible website before I spent many hundreds of dollars on lessons, dvd's, tutorials, etc. I can tell that everything I need to know can be found here. All I can say is "Thank You!" Larry

I can't thank you enough for this site. The new search feature is amazing and it makes it so easy to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you again! Laurie

Your site is fantastic! I took a six week class four years ago and recently started again (after forgetting almost everything I learned!). I have to say that your site is excellent and I can't wait to practice the techniques you've shown. Scarlet

I'm a subscriber to your "Stained Glass Gems" and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your wonderful site! This is by far the best glass site I've run across. I recently purchased your publication on Patina FAQ and it's very helpful for me... I like to have hard copies of info so I added it to my library. Suzanna
