Bright Sidelights

I made these for my son and his fiancee for their house. My sons, my husband, my father-in-law and various other family members and friends stick built the house from scratch hiring out only the electrical, roofing and few other things. The house has very bright colors and my to-be-daughter-in-law chose bright colors to go along with it.

The pattern is one of Chantel Pare's free patterns. I have been doing stained glass for about 25 years, although I had taken about a 10 year sabbatical. With these I almost bit off a little more than I could handle. But I remained patient with myself and persisted. I was very pleased in the end.

Although I assisted with other parts of the construction (painting, hard-wood floors etc,) the windows were my main contribution. Now I am on fire again to continue with the art.

What a family and what a gift! Their whole house is built from love. Everywhere they look, there will be something to treasure, especially the lovely windows. Great job.

What a wonderful contribution to a house for a couple just starting out and above all that are willing to get their hands dirty and do some of the work, or most of the work themselves. I am sure they will treasure your contribution. You have great talent and an eye for beauty. Keep on with your stained glass, it is so rewarding.

What People
Are Saying

You can't imagine how much I wish I had found your incredible website before I spent many hundreds of dollars on lessons, dvd's, tutorials, etc. I can tell that everything I need to know can be found here. All I can say is "Thank You!" Larry

I can't thank you enough for this site. The new search feature is amazing and it makes it so easy to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you again! Laurie

Your site is fantastic! I took a six week class four years ago and recently started again (after forgetting almost everything I learned!). I have to say that your site is excellent and I can't wait to practice the techniques you've shown. Scarlet

I'm a subscriber to your "Stained Glass Gems" and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your wonderful site! This is by far the best glass site I've run across. I recently purchased your publication on Patina FAQ and it's very helpful for me... I like to have hard copies of info so I added it to my library. Suzanna
