Changing The Color of Solder In A Window

by Laura
(Pittsburgh, PA, USA)

We just purchased a house that has stained glass in the entryway. My inquiry is about changing the solder color if possible. I'd like to paint or melt on either a silver tone or bronze tone. The seams are currently shiny goldtone-the only kind I do not care for. Is there a way to retint the solder? if so, can you please explain tools and what is necessary.

Hi Laura,

If it's possible, please send me a close up picture of just a portion of the window. I need to see it in order to give you an answer. Go to Contact Me to send me an email with a picture attached. Once I have the picture, I'll add it to your question, and give you an answer here.

Sue
