Chrome Finished Look

by Laure
(Jacksonville, FL)

I want my solder lines to have a polished chrome look. How do I do this?

Answer

There's nothing you can do to get a chrome finish. The closest will be a silver finish by waxing and polishing the piece after you wash it.

If you want to pay to have it done, you could get it chrome plated. Look in your yellow pages to see if there is a chrome plating service near you. If not, do a Google search. There are plenty of them online. I know that many stained glass workers get pieces plated.

Perhaps someone reading this has used a plating service they could recommend. If so, let us know who you used and how much they charge. You can use the comments section, below, to write your reply.
