Copper Foil Thickness

by Karen
(Fl)

What is the most common thickness used, 1.25 mil or 1.5 mil?
Thanks Karen

Answer

Hi Karen,

1.25 mil is the most common thickness.

1.5 mil seems stiff compared to 1.25 mil and it's more difficult to ease into deep inside curves. You could use it for extra strength, but copper restrip would be a better and easier way to reinforce or strengthen a panel.
