Designs in copper foil lifting

Answer I wouldn't say that you're doing anything wrong. I've never had much luck with foil staying put when it was just stuck to the surface of the glass without attaching it to other solder lines. The other problem you can run into with large pieces of foil overlay is cracking the glass while you're soldering. The technique I use is to put the foil overlay on a piece of metal, tile, granite, anything hard that won't burn, and solder it there. Clean off the flux, then pull the foil off and glue it to the glass. |
