Doesn't Cut Cold Glass

Don't cut cold glass. Repeat: Don't cut cold glass. I work in an unheated basement...59 deg. The glass is also 59 deg. Cutting 59 deg. glass is called breaking. If you're having trouble with scores running thither and yon, it might be because the glass is cold. I use a heat-gun to warm it up...both sides please...and the cuts seem to go a lot better.

Warm and Ready NEW

I use a large (former) drafting light table to cut out most of my glass, then I lay a piece of vellum over the paper pattern to grind and fit on (protects the paper pattern). The two long light bulbs in the light table keep my glass warmed up and ready to foil! Plus I get to enjoy all the colors of the glass with light shining through as I foil!

Also...Don't Foil Cold Glass NEW

Just as cold glass doesn't cut well, cold glass also doesn't foil well. I like to put the cut pieces on a buffet warmer...one of those long plug-in trays used to keep appetizers warm. Make sure you get one with a "Low" setting...hot plates or any other setting are too hot and cause the foil adhesive to run. Try this trick if you're having trouble with lumpy foiling or foil that doesn't stick, and you'll be amazed at the difference it makes!
