Door Panel To Match Porch Tiles

by Keith Robinson
(Cottingham, UK)

trying to decide which looks best

trying to decide which looks best

I am presently builing a door panel 58cm x 97cm for the front door of my Victorian House. I used Dragonfly software to design a panel based on the adjacent ceramic Porch tiles.

Its my first panel and I now realise that I have been too ambitious for a first attempt. I have also created many problems by not thinking through the design.

I can't decide on exactly the final design and this picture shows three possible alternatives.

Thanks to the excellent advise from Sue and this web site I will be re-soldering most of the joints, and may even see a finished panel one day.

Any comments on which variation looks best would be appreciated.

Hello... the panels are amazing.. great job.

I like the middle one the best but perhaps you coudl try having the orange diamonds on the top and bottom and the red in the middle 4 spots.

When looking at the middle panel.. the orange at the top seems to bring out the orange in the design beside it.

What People
Are Saying

You can't imagine how much I wish I had found your incredible website before I spent many hundreds of dollars on lessons, dvd's, tutorials, etc. I can tell that everything I need to know can be found here. All I can say is "Thank You!" Larry

I can't thank you enough for this site. The new search feature is amazing and it makes it so easy to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you again! Laurie

Your site is fantastic! I took a six week class four years ago and recently started again (after forgetting almost everything I learned!). I have to say that your site is excellent and I can't wait to practice the techniques you've shown. Scarlet

I'm a subscriber to your "Stained Glass Gems" and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your wonderful site! This is by far the best glass site I've run across. I recently purchased your publication on Patina FAQ and it's very helpful for me... I like to have hard copies of info so I added it to my library. Suzanna
