Hanging Stained Glass Window Corners

by Cindy
(Greensboro, NC)

Is there an easy way to hang stained glass window corners so they hang flush with the window?
Thanks cindy

Hi Cindy,

My experience with window corners is very limited, as I've only hung them once, in my livingroom.

I framed them with small U zinc came on the top and the edge that went against the window frame. 3 hanging loops were soldered to the zinc, one on each end of the top and one at the bottom of the side edge. I put very small hooks in the (wooden) window frame, where the loops would attach.

Once the glass was hung, I squeezed the end of the hooks closed and then painted the hooks black to match the patina. They hung very close to the window. I assume you could do the same with metal window frames by drilling a starter hole before you screw in the hooks.

If anyone else has had experience hanging window corners, please tell us how you did it.
