Laticrete Premium Multi Master Adhesive vs Weldbond

by Mark
(Westminster Maryland)

I have been using Laticrete premium multi mastic adhesive on my mosaic pieces for awhile now with no problems. A new Mosaic store open in my area, the owner of the store suggest that I start using Weldbond instead of Mastic Adhesive because the Mastic Adhesive will start breaking down in few years. I have not experiences this problem yet.
My question is what which product would you suggest using?

Answer

I have only done one mosaic using an adhesive (which was Liquid Nails), so I'm not qualified to answer your question. However, you can ask at the Garden Web Stained glass and Mosaics Forum

They will be able to give you all the information you need.

Adhesive for mosaics

Hi - I used to use Weldbond for years but found it took far too long to dry completely. If you are working with stained glass on plate glass, the underside looks pretty awful using Weldbond. I switched to Bond 527. It is more toxic than Weldbond but it dries clear and is very strong.

Cheers
