Moving Wings Patterns

by K2M
(Ohio)

Have you seen a pattern for a Butterfly, Bird or dragons that have movable wings.

Answer

Yes, I have seen them, but not recently. They were available, quite a few years ago, in a kit that came with all of the hardware necessary to make the parts move. I made one which I think was a flying duck. Perhaps someone reading this knows if they are still available and where they can be found.

Bird with Movable Wings NEW
by: Judi (Oklahoma)

K2M

I found a pattern and instructions for a pelican with movable wings in "The Stained Glass Garden projects and patterns" by George W. Shannon and Pat Torlen ( Published by Sterling/Tamos). The instructions are pretty straight forward. The supplies are easy to find. Have fun and good luck

Angel With Hinged Wings At the Rennaisance Festival... NEW
by: Lisa Seger

I did see an angel that had hinged wings. There was a beveled crystal hanging down, that when you pulled on it, it made the angels wings flap. It was brilliant, and I considered buying it so that I could copy the pattern and idea at home. But I was short on cash that day, so I settled for buying a couple other things, a simpler angel and a 3-D heart, because I wanted to remember to experiment with trying 3-D projects.
From what I remember, the hinge was just a very small one that the wings were attached to, and then there was the chain with the beveled crystal on the end... I sure wish I had bought it so I could be more helpful.

What People
Are Saying

You can't imagine how much I wish I had found your incredible website before I spent many hundreds of dollars on lessons, dvd's, tutorials, etc. I can tell that everything I need to know can be found here. All I can say is "Thank You!" Larry

I can't thank you enough for this site. The new search feature is amazing and it makes it so easy to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you again! Laurie

Your site is fantastic! I took a six week class four years ago and recently started again (after forgetting almost everything I learned!). I have to say that your site is excellent and I can't wait to practice the techniques you've shown. Scarlet

I'm a subscriber to your "Stained Glass Gems" and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your wonderful site! This is by far the best glass site I've run across. I recently purchased your publication on Patina FAQ and it's very helpful for me... I like to have hard copies of info so I added it to my library. Suzanna
