My First Project

by Nadine Pinell
(Houma, LA)

Nadine's First Celtic Cross

Nadine's First Celtic Cross

I took a great interest in stained glass and became determined that I'd find a class that would work with my schedule, and that I would learn this spectacular art. This is my first (well actually 2nd, but 1st solo) project. I am quite proud of this Celtic Cross and am hanging it proudly in my house! I'm looking forward to learning techniques and more determined to perfect that beautiful, THIN, souldered line. And many thanks to my instructor Sarah Sevogia for her patience and expertise.

beautiful
by: Denise

Your cross is beautiful. I am reading all I can to try and educate myself enough to try stained glass. I have been buying a piece here and there of the tools I will need and I am about to start. I only hope my first project turns out as nice as yours.

Very good
by: Katya

Nadine, to start something is probably the most difficult thing. Later on you see the direction and know what to do and all you are to do is to approach step by step doing your best. But it it the starting point that is inspiring and unsure at the same time. Your cross is very nice, I beleive the exposure to the direct light makes the glass work and the colours work together with the Celtic traditional design. And the free form things are quite tricky, it is not simple to keep the elements together. My congratulations and good luck! :)

This is a beautiful and artistic design. I like the creative placement of color. You deserve to be very proud of your first project! My first project was my best, so I wish you continued growth and progress!

Nice piece. I too am looking for that thin solder line, almost there. PRACTICE, PRATRICE, PRATICE. Love your cross!

What People
Are Saying

You can't imagine how much I wish I had found your incredible website before I spent many hundreds of dollars on lessons, dvd's, tutorials, etc. I can tell that everything I need to know can be found here. All I can say is "Thank You!" Larry

I can't thank you enough for this site. The new search feature is amazing and it makes it so easy to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you again! Laurie

Your site is fantastic! I took a six week class four years ago and recently started again (after forgetting almost everything I learned!). I have to say that your site is excellent and I can't wait to practice the techniques you've shown. Scarlet

I'm a subscriber to your "Stained Glass Gems" and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your wonderful site! This is by far the best glass site I've run across. I recently purchased your publication on Patina FAQ and it's very helpful for me... I like to have hard copies of info so I added it to my library. Suzanna
