PJ's Catch and Release Rainbow Trout

by Nancy
(Canada)

I found a photo on the internet and it remined me of a dear friend of ours who is a fly fisherman. I created a pattern from the photo and this is the result. It measures 25 1/2" x 34". My husband then made a log frame to compliment the piece. I actually made this piece TWICE. I had asked a professional photographer to take a picture of it. There was a mishap and it was broken to pieces in the process! The original window had 57+ broken pieces in it from the mishap. I will repair it SOME DAY :) So I chose to make it again. Sorry about the picture quality. Hope you like it as much as I do :)
I was fortunate enough to win 3rd place in the 2011 Delphi Art Glass Festival. Just can't seem to get past 3rd :)

Breath taking
by: Cindy

I absolutely love this!
My son graduates from medical school in May and as his family gift he will be going on a fly fishing trip with his father and grandfather~3 generations. They began doing this when he turned 8 and have had several trips over the years. This will probably be the last due to his grandfather's age.
Would you consider sharing your pattern with me?
Thanks, Cindy

Amazing
by: Anonymous

This is amazing and more so since you actually made it twice. You must have been heartbroken at the breakage. Never worry about not getting past 3rd. That's only somebody else's judgment and may not even reflect what a different judge would think. Often I've scratched my head trying to think why one piece won over something I liked much more. It's just not objective. Your piece is a winner, believe it.

What People
Are Saying

You can't imagine how much I wish I had found your incredible website before I spent many hundreds of dollars on lessons, dvd's, tutorials, etc. I can tell that everything I need to know can be found here. All I can say is "Thank You!" Larry

I can't thank you enough for this site. The new search feature is amazing and it makes it so easy to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you again! Laurie

Your site is fantastic! I took a six week class four years ago and recently started again (after forgetting almost everything I learned!). I have to say that your site is excellent and I can't wait to practice the techniques you've shown. Scarlet

I'm a subscriber to your "Stained Glass Gems" and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your wonderful site! This is by far the best glass site I've run across. I recently purchased your publication on Patina FAQ and it's very helpful for me... I like to have hard copies of info so I added it to my library. Suzanna
