by Freida

I would like to know how you put copper wire in a pattern. I am new to stained glass and i am still learning about everything. I am learning everything off of the internet through this kind of web site so i would appreciate all the help i can get. thanks so very much. noukey.

Answer

Hi Noukey,

Before I answer this question I need more information. What do you want to do with the wire? Use it as reinforcement? Decorative accents? Make loops for hanging the piece? Anything else?

You can answers this in the comments section below.

Shaping copper wire
by: Anonymous

I use copper wire to hang my stained glass panels on. My husband, being a woodcarver, uses quite a bit of copper to create feet and legs for the birds he carves, so he is a good source of info for me. For making rings to hang your piece on, I take a pencil and wrap the copper wire a couple of times around it, it makes a perfect circle. You can then cut it and first coat it with solder and then solder it to your work. Hope this will help a little.
