Support For an Oval Zink Encased Panel

I have completed a copper foil panel, I have attached the center foiled area to a larger (20 X 12?) ovel piece of Kokomo glass. The oval glass I have surrounded in zink. My question is what should I do for jump rings and support for the panel. It is not very heavy, but I do not want to run into problems in the future. I was thinking of running a bead of silicone in the chanel when I attached the zink around the glass, just to give it a little extra support. Your thoughts on the jump rings to attach chain?

Linda, would it be possible to attach a picture so we could see the panel? How did you attach the copper foil piece to the Kokomo glass? I have some ideas, but seeing the panel would realy help.
