Using Foil Shears for a Lead Came project

I accidently used foil shears to cut the cartoon for a project I intended to do in lead came. I dont mind if the final panel ends up being larger than the original cartoon. If I go ahead and use lead came, is the only issue going to be the difficulty using the cartoon as a guide for what will be a larger panel? Thanks in advance for your advice!
AnswerHave you placed the pattern pieces back on the cartoon to see if they are too big? That would be a good place to start. I'm assuming the cut lines on your cartoon are the correct width. That way, you'll know if the panel will be growing as you construct it.
It's difficult to construct a panel if it's growing because you need the cartoon for an accurate blueprint where to put the lead and glass. If you go over the lines, the cartoon will become useless and you'll be constructing a panel without being able to see where you're at.
I'd suggest that you cut the glass a few pieces at a time. Lead them up, then cut a few more. That way, if you find that you're running into problems, you can adjust the glass by grinding it. Also, make sure you cut inside the line, so that there is no mark showing once the glass is cut.
You could try trace cutting. It's pretty easy, you cut more accurately and it saves the time and effort of cutting out pattern pieces. Here is a
