where to purchase in small bulk delicate but sturdy chain

by Junette Kelly
(Port Orchard, Wa. USA)

I would like to know what size to ask for when asking for chain to hang a small stained glass suncatcher? I want to buy it by the roll because I have other things I want to hang on branches like glass globes, etc. Can you help me?

Answer

You can get bulk chain at Delphi Glass As for size, you'll have to ask them what they recommend.

I buy most of my chain at home improvement stores like Lowes or Home Depot. I just choose what I think would look the best with whatever it is I want to hang.

I have also seen decorative chain in craft stores like Michaels, AC Moore or Hobby Lobby.

bulk chain NEW

I went through several types of stores and finally found jackchain on a roll at a local hardware store. I could buy it by the foot. If you could find something like that you might be able to check for a vendor label?

purchasing craft chain NEW
by: Junette Kelly

I have since posting this request, that I should be asking for #16 double or single 'Jack' chain. Craft stores only sell it in small lengths. I am looking for THEIR SOURCE but of course, they won't tell you. Ebay will be a source, too. Wish me luck! Thanks so much. I've got all the supplies ready for my idea except for the chain and the ambition! hehehe

What People
Are Saying

You can't imagine how much I wish I had found your incredible website before I spent many hundreds of dollars on lessons, dvd's, tutorials, etc. I can tell that everything I need to know can be found here. All I can say is "Thank You!" Larry

I can't thank you enough for this site. The new search feature is amazing and it makes it so easy to find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you again! Laurie

Your site is fantastic! I took a six week class four years ago and recently started again (after forgetting almost everything I learned!). I have to say that your site is excellent and I can't wait to practice the techniques you've shown. Scarlet

I'm a subscriber to your "Stained Glass Gems" and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your wonderful site! This is by far the best glass site I've run across. I recently purchased your publication on Patina FAQ and it's very helpful for me... I like to have hard copies of info so I added it to my library. Suzanna
