Thanks for the lead comments. NEW
by: Lisa S.

I am constantly asked or preached at by family, friends, and customers at festivals about lead poisoning. Everyone seems so worried about my health, and I usually use my favorite sarcastic response...."ya gotta die of something, cuz you'd feel pretty silly dying of nothing!"
But I do think the response I get to my joke is telling me I need to be more serious about the subject. From now on, I will tell people that the majority of lead poisoning comes from inhaling lead dust or eating lead...and I don't do either! I do use a air purifying machine while working indoors, and I try to remember my gloves when working with the lead came...but they are so hot. If anyone has suggestions on good gloves to wear that don't make your hands sweat, please let me know~!
Thanks, Sue, for all your great information! Your site is the reason I was not afraid to step out of my comfort zone and start selling my work at shows.
