Pesty Zinc and Patina
by: Absolute Glass

I find that if you clean the zink when you clean the piece with a scotch bright pad before the patina process that removes the oil from the zink and cleans the solder. I dry the piece really well then use a sponge brush to apply the patina just to the solderlines. Then I clean that off with a wet soapy sponge. After I dry that off I will apply the patina to the zinc frame with the sponge brush with a continuous straight motion to each corner and let it sit until it drys then I wash it with a soapy (flux remover)sponge and polish that side and go on to the next side. I find that I do not like the new zinc patina it doesn't work quite like the regular one.

Hope this helps someone
